Santa's Smokehouse takes pride in offering you only
wild Alaskan salmon, nature at its best!
We are located in Fairbanks, Alaska. We began commercially catching
and processing our own wild salmon in 1984. From there we have
expanded to smoking and custom wild game processing.

What is the difference between wild salmon and farmed salmon?
Wild salmon don't do drugs!
The wild salmon runs of Alaska are both healthy and abundant.
Spawned in our pristine rivers and lakes, our wild salmon
migrate to the clean deep waters of the North Pacific where
they feed and grow naturally.

These Alaskan wild salmon are the guardians of thousands years
of genetic diversity that allow the runs to survive in the Arctic.
Alaska does not allow fish farming.

Is farmed salmon as good as wild
salmon? NO!
- Farmed salmon are reared in densely packed pens where
they are fed antibiotics and fungicides to ward off disease.
- Farmed salmon are dosed with anti-parasites to kill
sea lice.
- Farmed salmon are fed 'pigment enhancers' to color their
meat.
Salmon farming pollutes the environment.
- Fecal mater and excess antibiotic laden feed leach
into the surrounding water, causing pollution and endangering
other fish and mammals.
- Lice and disease are passed on to wild salmon in the
vicinity.
- Each year thousands of farmed fish escape and populate
areas foreign to their species.
